Why is my Envoy overheating

I have a 2004 GMC Envoy 4x4 automatic that when I am
running the air conditioning it will start overheating
weather I am setting still or going down the road dose
anyone have any idea why it is doing that plz help

Hello, do you have coolant in the radiator? Leaking anywhere? Since our gauges are terrible, I'd hook up a scanner and see what the real temperature is. Should be close to 195, even if the gauge reads 210 (normal spot for it to be). If it's not really overheating, replace the temp sensor located right above the thermostat. If it is indeed overheating, might be time for a thermostat While you're at it, check the waterpump. Grab a hold of the fan, and try to wiggle it, should be tight. If it's loose, time for a waterpump, and might as well change the fan clutch too, since these are a weak spot too on our platform.
