Car losing power, battery life drained, then truck dies out.

Going to rite-aid, I noticed head light's were dim, i
thought it was just me. As I was apart to park,
truck started to spudder, I looked at the gas gauge
and noticed all gauges were at zero, even My MPH
gauge. Then struck dies out completely. I try to
start it and battery is dead. The battery is brand
new, only been on there for 4 months. I go in rite
aid and come back out, truck starts up. But all
light's are fading out. I start rushing home, and I
lost all light's and power to gauges and truck. It's
still barley running until it finally dies completely a
block away from home. I noticed the computer
read out before it died, Check Brake System. Any
help on ideas, Or advise, would be greatly
appreciated.

scan for codes and get the definitions even if the light ain't on , sounds like limp mode or alternator going bad .
