ford bantam engine change

hi. im considering replacing my 1990 ford bantam cvh 1.4l engine with a
compatible mazda engine. which mazda engine would fit? would the current
gearbox fit on the new engine?

Apparently it has been done. I cannot remember how. You would have to change the gearbox as well , unless you made up a special adapter for the engine / gearbox connection. It might be better to fit the CVH / PTe 1400 engine out of the Fiesta 98.
