Add till the oil is between the cross hatching on the dipstick, usually 4-5 quarts. You always want extra for top offs between changes.

Put in 4 quarts and start it and let it run for 30 seconds. Shut it of and let it sit for a couple of minutes and check the oil. Add additional oil until the proper level is reached on the dipstick.

Miranda, sounds like you do a great job taking care of your older car. If you want some more info, you might be able to get an owners manual on ebay, or try books4cars.com
