Am installing original radio afer having it in storage for several years. Will not work properly. Is there a reset button on it?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I installed an aftermarket Radio/CD player and now am planning on selling the truck. I put the original radio/cassette player back in and when I first powered it up it worked but the second time it would not. I get the time of day on the display but when I turn on the power the display goes blank. I can insert a cassette and it runs but no sound. I had it working for a while but after powering it down by turning off the key and later turning it back on it was not working. The unit was fine when I removed it several years ago but now is acting up. Any suggestions?

Check your wiring. If it gets the clock signal then it's working but it may have crossed or loose wires that would cause the display and radio to shut off when you hit the power.
