swapping engines between dodges

Asked by Feb 21, 2016 at 12:47 AM about the 2000 Dodge Dakota

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can you take the engine from a 1999 dodge
Durango automatic and put it in a dodge Dakota
2000 standard?

As long as that are the same engine blocks, there will be some transferring of parts cause one is a standard trans and the other automatic, shouldn't be too bad of a job.

You'll probably need to get a different fly wheel also

The flywheel will swap with the ring gear if the blocks are the same.
