Running too cold too long... in texas

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2002 dodge dakota,  have changed both temp
sensors,  water pump,  bypass hose, rad hoses,
thermostat 5 times, did a flush, and I'm still getting
code for too cold too long.....help

What temperature thermostat are you putting in there? You need a 195°F thermostat. Hope that helps! Jim

It calls for 165... I put 2 of those and then put a 180.... everything I've read says don't go any higher than that

Nope, that's incorrect! You need a 195°F thermostat in there. The engine must reach normal operating temperature of 195°F within 10 minutes of a cold start up or the trouble code will continue to set!! Hope that helps! Jim
