it is a heavy and large SUV with a high centre of gravity. Now for traction, is it 4wd of 2wd? if it is 2wd (rear drive) you might not have a "posi" rear end. Try taking off in 2nd gear (move the shifter to 2nd), and going slow, just lightly push on the pedal. If this is not the problem, get a GOOD set of tires.
