Why is my 2005 Dodge Caravan thermostat going
from normal to hot and then back down to normal
over and over again the hose coming off the
radiator is hard like it said above the thermostat or
not thermostat the radiator is cap is cold the
radiator is cold and the fluid in it is cold and we've
already been driving for an hour

I would have the thermostat replaced, may be sticking, also make sure the cooling system gets bled out from air pockets properly.
