What's my next move VW Bora

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi all I'm really at a loss here. I've had
mechanic round to fix throttle body of my car
as I have no throttle in car but this did not fix
the issue. My car starts and revs itself and
maybe runs for about a minute and suddenly
cuts off the throttle. We have changed the
mass air flow sensor, cleaned the CAT, and
even changed the fuel filter but it's still not
working. My mechanic put it on the
computer and it brings up fuel trim bank 1.
Can anyone help?

Many thanks

It's telling you that there is an improper fuel/air mixture. Possibilities are: 1) Vacuum leaks 2) POSSIBLE MAF failure 3) Restricted fuel filter 4) Failing Fuel pump 5) Thermostat or ECT sensor You have already addressed the MAF and fuel filter. If no code for the O2 sensor then we can rule that out. My next component to replace would be the ECT sensor. Have your mechanic pull a couple of plugs. If black and sooty, that would indicate a rich mixture. If really white, then too lean. 6) Failing oxygen sensor. 7) Exhaust leak before the oxygen sensor

did you readapt the throttle body?? if you remove the battery or remove the throtal body you have to readapt it to work right.
