I had this issue two winters in a row where it didn't idle cold. I replaced the Idle Air Control Valve, this is about 40$ and easy to get to, nice quick and easy install, they basically just wear out and stay open, not letting the engine idle properly to warm up. The other possible issue you could have is the intake gaskets, my 01 had bad intake gaskets, when I replaced them it ran like a champ again! this is my experience with a 01 3.0 V6 with 150,000 miles.
