Smoke after timing belt replacement

Asked by GuruGPFKC Aug 28, 2020 at 11:50 AM about the 1997 Cadillac Catera

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 97 Catera I just bought fir my
daughter. It only had 64k miles on it. The
water pump was leaking so we replaced it and
did the timing belt at the same time. As soon
as we start the car, the timing belt started
smoking.....any idea what that could be?
