79 f100 bogs down over 50 mph

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

just put a new carburetor on my 300 i6. driving down the road, everything ok until I attempted to accelerate to 55 mph speed limit and then it died off. at 45 to 50 there was no hesitation, then suddenly a "dead spot". this was happening to me previously which is the reason why i replaced the carb. already has a new fuel pump on it.
