Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replace mechanical fuel pump, cleaned
gas tank and all fuel lines. Changed plugs

not getting fuel to the carb. What can I try.

Did you change the fuel filter? It is entirely possible that the fuel tank pickup is plugged with rust.

Check the vacuum side of the fuel pump, just cause it's new doesn't mean it's a good one. You should also use a vacuum pump on the fuel supply line to,try and draw fuel up from the tank, if it won't draw then you have a pin hole leak somewhere in the fuel supply line or pickup tube. Corroded fuel lines on a rig this old is a concern plus today's fuels will decompose the rubber hoses internally so you should replace them with the new multi fuel hoses.

One more thing is make sure you got the fuel pump actuator lever in the right spot, if there is too much play in the fulcrum could windup on the wrong side of the eccentric drive.
