Diagnosing help

Car was running fine then all of the sudden
I lost power and engine just revs but won't
move.. I've tried every gear and engine will
just rev when i give it gas

Sounds like the transmission is not engaging. Check the fluid level first.

Checked that it was showing to much fluid which didn't make sense toe because I haven't put any in it


To check engine has to be warm, transmission in park, on a level surface with engine on.

Someone else also checked the fluid an said it smelled burnt

I figured its a transmission issue, I just don't know how to pinpoint the issue I've been told to check linkage cable, some sort of solenoid,a pump or the filter


is the fluid black and or brown? Have a local reputable trans shop look it over for you. How many miles on the Windstar? I suspect your in for a rebuild or replacement.
