fordtaurus2003 had a slow leak radiator but now, today, I noticed my needle was hot and radiator was very low on coolant (the overflow tank wouldnt hold antifreeze and coolant leaked out

Asked by Julie Nov 22, 2014 at 08:15 PM about the 2003 Ford Taurus

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I put newspaper under the engine; and noticed antifreeze or coolant leaky out very fast
right under the radiator.  How do I find out if is a hose leak or a radiator leak?  I am a
female and dont want to get ripped off by any mechanic.  Help! I do have a jack; maybe I
can jack the car up, find out.  Id appreciate any advise. If its simply a hose leak its way
cheaper than replacing the entire radiator.  Julie M

Julie, there are two hose,s top and bottom,if leak is at radiator, check the hose,s where they go in to it,check the clamp,s all so,if you don,t see any hose leak,s,,then it will be the radiator it self, and you can save money if it is the radiator,by having it repaired rather than buying a new one.

All so,the resivoir tank if leaking could be the issue, check the tank and hose going to it,
