What do you think?

Asked by May 27, 2019 at 12:09 PM about the 2008 Mazda MAZDA6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Mom hit a deer in my car. I've had it like two weeks
I don't know much about it. She drove it home 2
miles after she hit the deer. Dad said move it in
case it's leaking. We do and it goes in reverse just
fine but once I try and go forward it wouldn't it
would rev and sounded like it was trying hard but it
was moving backwards. I'm wondering what you
think would be worth looking at to this reason.

From the picture it looks like the engine is not where it should be, now this can cause a lot of stress on the transmission, CV axles and suspension. I suggest you just leave it parked and have a Mobile Mechanic come by and check it out unless you feel it maybe a total loss then call your insurance company and they will send out a claims agent to assess the vehicle.

It crunched the hood and part of the deer went under it breaking some wires, the radiator, it still turns on but it won't drive. It's already a salvage. You couldn't tell before the deer hit it this morning

Oh and the engine cover was cracked and wasn't placed back correctly before the photo, just set on top. It's not so close together. But do you know what these hoses are kind sir

Hopefully your insurance will cover the damage.

There is a broken solenoid just to the left of your hand and that is where the vacuum line should go but as it’s badly damaged you can’t put it where it should go.
