Surge or jerk from 3000rpm

Hi.I have a 2002 Opel Corsa 1.6 Sport. In the past few months I have noticed that at 3000rpm to 3500 rpm the has a jerk or surge. But this only occurs when the vehicle is driven hot. On start up in the morning and driving it the vehicle drives perfectly.Any idea what it could be.
