the shop said my transmissions toast. my father in law and i are thinking
about doing it are self. would a 88 tanny fit? or what others will. and would

hard of a job would it be?

Its harder then you think, please have the shop change it and avoid headaches...

Yes and Yes- joemom has good advice, but if you are handy and have some time on your hands, go for it- but you will need good hands-
