does a 2005 ford freestar have a coolant sensor

Asked by Feb 01, 2017 at 11:07 PM about the 2005 Ford Freestar

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When driving the temp gauge moves to hot. I popped the hood there was nothing overheating and nothing smelt like it was overheating. I was told to change the temperature coolant sensor. Does this year have one and if so where is it located?

It does not have an engine temperature sensor. It has a head temperature sensor which is where the gauge gets the temperature from. It's located on drivers side attached to the head

It does have a temp sensor and a temp sender, the sensor is for the computer and the sender is for the gauge, don't confuse the two, one is a sender and the other a sensor.
