Attaching the Air bag wiring after seats were recovered.

Asked by C.L. Jan 23, 2018 at 06:50 PM about the 2002 Acura RSX Type-S FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought my 02 Acura RSX Type S 6 years ago. The
front leather seats were redone with new leather.
Afterward they never reattached the wiring to the
Air bag. I think it's just the passenger side. Is this
something I can do myself as nothing is damaged?
I'm a woman in my 50's and usually use YouTube
videos to work on my car. Thanks for any answers!

Any time you plug/unplug the air bags remove the negative cable. Also, was the shop that did the upholstery work aware these seats have side air bags in them? Those covers need to have special seams that the air bag can blow through. Some companies state not to re-sew their seat covers. The air bag blows through the foam and cover seams.
