I have recently purchased a new key fob from the mitsubishi dealer, but a 2017
mirage se push button start has no nearby locksmiths that can program it, and I
have no working keyfob for it. Towing it to (and from) a dealer is a mess, so
could I possibly just remove the unit that they are programming it with, and take
it to the dealer, rather than the whole car?
There should be a section in your owners manual that tells you how to reprogram a fob. If you don't have one, manuals are available on-line. It's really easy to do.
