Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 96 K1500 5.7 V8. I replaced the whole spider assembly, and intake
gasket because of a misfire code. The truck ran great for a few weeks. I drove it
on a Saturda y, no problems on Monday morning the truck would not crank.
This is hard to describe. When I turned the key on it would spin free and easy
(not crank thou) and then it slowed, almost like the battery was dead, then
backfire up through the throttle body. If I kept trying it would do this over and
over like it was out of time, bUT not crank. I replaced the timing chain, gears
and lined up the timing marks, had #1TDC and it did the exact same thing. Long
story short I have replaced the distributor, rotor, cap, plugs, plug wires, coil and
still the same problem. I thought it may be out 180 but that left me with the
same thing. I don't have any codes because it won't crank, and I do not want to
hold the key on the see if I get any codes because of the backfire. I am at a loss
and could use some advice.
