Car AC compressor always dying

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 Honda Accord 4 cylinder. I have had to
replace the compressor 3 times now. This last time that it
died, white smoke came out of the engine. I have no idea
what is going on. Can there be an underlying issue that is
causing the compressor to die. I live in Tucson Arizona,
and AC is a must in the summer. I’ve already spent over
$1500. Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated.
