Was someone trying to steal my truck ?

Asked by Yessica May 27, 2020 at 02:02 AM about the 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE Crew Cab

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A couple days ago I was trying to go to the store
and when I got into my car I turned it on like normal
but when I was In process of turning the wheel it
the steering wheel was too hard to turn so i look at
the dash board and it says Service:Power steering.
Drive with care. I searched it up thinking it was a
mount function and it said something about being
normal when I change my battery but, I can’t even
change a tire !!! So I thought it was weird ! Called
my brother and in the process I found out that on
the driver side in between the tire and the “battery”
the piece of plastic was burned out and there was
some cables cut off !!!  A few days after I found out
that not only were the cables on that side broken
but on the right side too !
So I’m just wondering if maybe by cutting those
cables someone could steal the truck” by the way
there was no damage inside “ or was someone just
messing around
