Wheel and tire upgrade

Question type: Car Customization

Can someone discuss viable alternatives for tire (and wheel) upgrades to improve wet weather handling and control.  Specifically, which tires improve control?  How is the ride affected with each option?  How is the fuel economy affected with each option?

Yes, there are so many options now available in tires that you will be surprised what you can find out. It could fill an entire website. I always liked the Goodyear Aqua-Tread (or similar named) tires, or the Michelins, which even have a ice-rating. Any quality tire shouldn't affect your ride too much, and the biggest factor for fuel economy is keeping whatever tire you have properly inflated. Even a few PSI below rated inflation numbers will cost 5-10% fuel economy.
