just changed coolant/temp sensor on ford e 350 super duty van 5.4 to pass smog, now temp gauge hasnt moved but the overflow tank for radiator was boiling
Check the coolant level when the engine is cool and purge all the air out of the system. Youtube for how-to videos.
If the coolant level is good you could have the wrong sensor, sensor could be defective, or if you put sealant on the sensor threads it won't work. The sealant insulates the sensor from ground and will prevent the electrical circuit to work. HTH. -Jim
