Black smoke out the tail pipe is likely flooded gas burning in the exhaust, and this can destroy a catalytic converter. If you're comfortable working on cars and doing diagnostics, go to a car parts store and have codes read. Then follow those for your own repair. Otherwise have a mechanic diagnose this. do it soon, as letting this go can do a lot of harm to the car.
