Check engine light on after changing battery

Asked by Jan 28, 2017 at 04:15 PM about the 2010 MINI Cooper Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I changed the battery in my mini after it gave me trouble
and gave me a check engine light. Now I still have a check
engine light describing electronics and the brake light is
on yellow. Also I have no turn signals and the windows
won't work. How do I get the check engine light off and
everything working?

Did you remove the battery without the saver tool installed in the OBD port? If so then your in for a trip to the dealer to have the system reflashed and it reprogrammed for the new battery. Check your owners manual under battery replacement for the warning about this.
