I'm getting frustrated with coming on here looking at vehicles I like and can afford but now I've been told that CarGarus is making up these prices.. Why?

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Why do you all give monthly payments when it's
not the right amount? Do you request that amount
or is that a possibility amount even though a
person may have bad credit? I need a car and if I'm
going by the payments you've given why is it so
hard to get approved for a car? THIS IS BEYOND
FRUSTRATING!!!

Have you looked at the additional details at the bottom in blue? Your interest % is effected by several factors including the vehicle you are purchasing and your credit score to name maybe the most important 2. Then enter the amount of the vehicle plus any lot fees- if the vehicle is 12,000.00 and the car lot charges 399.00 add that to your vehicle price. Then notice the months- you can edit the number of months your loan is for. This effects your payment amount the most. So be realistic with your interest rate- A longer loan on a used vehicle may not qualify for as good an interest rate as a new / newer car. ONce you make your settings, #months and interest rate, and maybe your trade value if trading, Cargurus seems to hold that information- just check it each time you try it.- Hope this helps.

Just an update- you enter the interest rate yourself, but you need to find out what to enter in that box from whoever you will borrow your money from. Enter a higher amount than you think you will be able to get and you will have estimated payments showing. Play with this a bit and you will see the importance of the interest rate on any loan- it makes a lot of difference in your total financial picture.
