2008 Dodge charger

Asked by Andre Sep 29, 2019 at 06:15 PM about the 2008 Dodge Charger SE RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought the car because the previous owner could not put the car in time. I got
the car real cheap. Now the marks are lined up but the car will not start. Also
flames come out of the exhaust when i crank it. Any suggestions on what i can
do please ?????

Here are some picture of the marks. From what i was reading the timing could be off 180 degrees but i am not sure. Do not want to do anything until i get clarification on what the next step would be. Thank you

Lapping flames out the tailpipe and unable to run at all,, sorta suspect you are indeed 180 deg out...I would make the correction to the chain...IMO

Make sure it is DTC on the number one piston after the intake valve opens and closes , could be on the exhaust stroke 180% out

when you think you have it correct turn the engine by had a few revolutions to make sure nothing is locking up. If the plugs are out this would be easier to do.
