Dodge charger

I have a dodge charger evrytime i start
the car it runs for 3 second and cuts
off. I changed the fuel pump but it's
still doing it. My mechanic told me I
need a new engine. What do I need to
do?

If it runs for 3 seconds with no knocking and has oil pressure it can be fixed. I'd find another mechanic and get a second opinion
