Why can't I get my key out of the ignition after I replaced the shifter cable

Asked by Sep 24, 2017 at 01:44 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe 4 Dr LS 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had to replace the shifter cable that runs from the steering colum to the
transmission but after replacing it I now can't remove the key due to the
steering wheel not locking. What can I do?
