Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car overheated last week. Got it home diagnosed it and found a cracked coolant flange. I
replaced the coolant flange and temp sensor With genuine VW parts. The sensor clip
popped out and I found that the gasket was missing. I grabbed the old one, put it in and
things seemed fine. Got about a quarter mile from home and the temp steadily and the
car screamed at me again like the day it first blew. I couldn't find the new gasket in the
engine bay. I think the gasket got sucked into the system. Whoops. Now what do I do?

I doubt that the gasket got sucked into the engine. Try bleeding it again, sometimes air pockets are reluctant to get out.
