How do I secure the car cover for the Jetta 2002

I have the original cover for my Ketta 2002 and never used it, however now
that I would like to cover the vehicle, the cover 9original cover sold by VW md
purchased with the car) keeps blowing off. How do I secure it once it is on the
car?

Most car covers have a provision for a lock. This consists of a cable and small padlock. The cable is looped through a hole in the cover near the hem then thrown under the car where there's another hole. You loop the cable through that hole and lock it with the little padlock. In addition JC Whitney sells a product called "Gust Guard". Basically it's two pieces of clothes line and four plastic clamps. You attach the clotheslines to the clamps, cut to fit, and clamp it to the front and rear of the car cover. It's actually not as complicated as it sounds. The cable goes on the center of the cover and the gust guard goes on the front and rear of the cover. I used this set up for three years on my 2000 Grand Prix when I was parking it outside.
