i have a 1999 chevy blazer 4.3 v6 just started when driving the speedometer started jumping and then down to 0 and its like it jump out of gear it done this about 5 or 6 times when driving yesterday but on the way home it done good didnt act up at all what would cause it to do that

VSS will cause exactly this problem, and you won't even get a malfunction code. Very common problem, just replace the vehicle speed sensor as it's not that expensive and see if everything starts working properly, if it does then you won't have to go through checking all the wiring.
