1996 Chevy S10 4.3l not getting any power from battery

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have beeb workung on 1996 Chevy s10 4.3l ls 4
wheel drive. Replaced plugs, wires, distributor,
battery all filters and oil. I started it the other day
and it was running very rough. So I checked engine
and it had smoke coming out and alternator was
extremely hot. So I replaced the altenator and had
to replace the distributor again since I somehow
broke 1 of the bolts off. Once I hooked up battery
after replacing altenator and distributor I now have
no power going to truck. No lights nothing. I have
power ti distributor and battery has 12volts. Would
a bad distributor cause this? Did I blow a fuse. Not
sure where ti check for main fuse.
