Transmission bolts

Asked by Sep 04, 2017 at 06:58 PM about the 1992 Ford F-250 2 Dr STD 4WD Standard Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1992 ford f250 351 motor 4x4.
I am trying to put in a new clutch slave cylinder.
To do that I need to remove the tansmission from
the engine. So a few questions.
How many bolts hold the tansmission to the
engine block?
Can I when I get those bolts removed do this
without removing the cross member? By just
resting the tensmission on the cross member.
Can I leave the transfer case hooked to the
tansmission?
Chilton or Haynes? I have a Haynes but it says
nothing about the number of bolts just to remove
them so I wonder if Chilton does.
