Car will not turn over

Asked by Jul 09, 2017 at 03:17 PM about the 2002 Chevrolet Malibu LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just had the starter replaced. It was obvious that
the starter was completely shot and we needed a
new one. Tried starting it, and noticed the anti-theft
system was engaged. We go through the steps to
disengage it. We were successful with that. We
assumed the car should've started at this point. It
doesn't start and just cranks and cranks. Had a
tune up on it 2 years ago and have not had any
major prior issues.

Cranks without starting means your battery and starter are good, now you need to check for spark and fuel pressure.
