2002 Chevy cavalier radiator fan stops running after a few minutes

Asked by Aug 15, 2017 at 12:34 PM about the 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi all, I have a 2002 Chevy cavalier that starts to overheat in
traffic or during idle, Also AC blows hot during idle. Of
course my first thought was a bad radiator fan, but it's
weird, when the car starts, the fan is on. Then after a few
minutes of running, it stops and the engine temperature
starts to climb. Not sure if I'm looking at a failing fan
problem or some sort of sensor problem.  Does this sound
like a normal bad fan?
