car wont start

Asked by Zackrankin Sep 23, 2014 at 09:33 PM about the 1994 Toyota Camry DX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i was driving my 94 camry down the road it just randomly died on me. it didnt have any
problems with starting or even driving the couple miles before it died. When i pulled off on
the side of the road and went to start it again the only thing that turned ove was the
starter itself. the motor is also turning over but doesnt sound like if it had fuel it would
even want to start. I'm thinking it's the fuel pump just because when I turn the key into the
on positian i dont hear the fuel pump kick on. I also think theirs another issue but not sure
where to start frist

Best find out just what you are looking at for repairs. Your Toyota is 20 years old and perhaps, you should apply that money to a newer vehicle. The Toyota isn't getting any younger and nor are you. Splurge and treat yourself to something newer if you're looking at a high repair bill.

Take your distributor cap off. Have someone quickly hit the key while you are watching the rotor. If the rotor isn't spinning, your timing belt has broken.
