removed belt no whining changed powersteering pump and alternator still whining sounds like new alternator also whines as did the old one.is that normal. 1999 grand prix 3800

It's most likely the water pump, they're prone to failure, or the idler pulley for the serpentine belt. They're made of plastic and tend to get noisy with age. HTH. -Jim
