Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am 3.4L v6.
I have replaced my thermostat and the housing,
bled the air out of my cooling system and replaced
clamps and hoses. Thinking it might be my

I would eliminate a head gasket problem before spending $$ on parts , is the exhaust white ? is there goop under the oil fill cap ? Does it get hot right away , down the road a bit ?

After being started it'll warm up to about halfway on the temp gauge then after a few minutes it'll continue to climb and overheat. Exhaust is alittle white but eventually goes away. And no goop underneath the oil fill cap.
