If one develops a leak the rear end will lose air lowering it and a message check suspension or light will come on. The compressor will run until it blows a fuse. there's a on off switch in the trunk on the left side. These early air ride systems on the Lincoln Town cars are simple and easy to service! not changed much 1999- 2011 people are scared of them but parts have come way down in cost. I see a lot of Town cars and some Mark VIII's ruined by conversion spring kits. Finally in 2016 just about every manufacture of high end performance or luxury cars uses air suspension.
