My 2003 Lexus ES300 Steering Wheel Wood Enamel is cloudy. Is there any product (or any way) to clean it and restore its shine?

I think my son used a handi-wipe on the steering wheel and when the alcohol in it dried, it clouded up on the wooden portions of the steering wheel.  Is there any way to strip the cloudy film off without damaging the wood?

I would use a mildy agressive compound such as Meguiars Scratch X 2.0 and I would tape off the leather areas, to avoid contact when buffing it.
