'99 Lexus ES300 - Stored a couple years

Asked by Steve Mar 10, 2019 at 05:53 PM about the 1999 Lexus ES 300 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, I've put in a new battery and my 1999 Lexus ES300 starts and all but when I
go to back it out it seems like the brakes are engaged.  Is it just a matter of
running the car for a while to reset the ECU?  Or is the car doomed?

1 Answer

Yeah, I let it run and then pumped the brakes a few times and things got better. Eventually, I drove it around for like 45 minutes and took it to a mechanic who said I should drive it every day for like 7 to 10 days, including highway. Then he'd be able to diagnose the problem and so forth. Instead of all that I'm going to sell the car.
