Normally it should have stayed off by reconnecting the wire. If not you could disconnect the battery for like 15 minutes to reset the computer.

Tried that a few times. My computor will not clear code. prior to disconnect system had no codes or problem. There is a way too reset it using the under dash link and grounding two wires off Tc and AB. Have you heard of this?

I have heard of all kinds of tricks for resetting things, it wouldn't surprise me, but I don't know that one. A scanner capable of reading Air Bag, & ABS codes could clear it.

The airbag light will stay on if any airbag sensor gets disconnected. You can't reset it by disconnecting the battery. The cheapest way to do this is get an airbag scanner and clear the codes. The good thing in this case, is that the code will most likely be STORED and not PRESENT. There is a detailed step by step guide on YOUCANIC that details "How to reset Lexus airbag light". Take a look at that it explains everything.
