Thermostat issues

I have a 2006 Chevy Malibu maxx as my
temperature gauge stop working took it to the
dealership they said the thermostat was bad,I
changed it and the guage worked ,,,week later
same issue guage stop working and the fan stays
on and the car not running hot ,,changed
thermostat again week later doing the same thing
guage not moving what else could it be????

Check coolant level. Low level can cause similar issues.

Check to see if the engine is warming up by feeling the radiator and heater hoses. Shop also have a infer red temperature gauge for reading the temperature of the engine. I have seen where a person goes threw like 5 thermostats until one works properly. Uncommon but it does happen.

Then it sounds like you need to change the thermostat again. Go to a different parts store to pick one up. Thermostats are mass produced, probably the ones you are getting are from the same bad batch.

Ok I try that

2006 Malibu it has overheated very easy the fans don't turn on unless I turn AC ON. BUT I JUST WENT TO STORE & come out to go work it's yet Just down the street and starts dies abt ten times, finally starts And shakes like crazy ended in limp mood only on stops does it shake. So Firestone in am I have to driver no road side very lil $$$ what risk is ? Ann's traction control means what exactly?
