I think my timing belt has gone out the car won't start but it
did start fine and drove until I parked when my check
engine light came on then my car wouldn't start once I shut
it off I'm not sure if it's my flywheel though

what's the year and make of the car ? does it turn over ? (crank) do you have proper spark and fuel pressure ?

2006 Chrysler pt cruiser during addition and no it doesn't crank over just makes a whining noise

you should have checked for power at the starter solenoid while yo had it out , , some are junk out of the box , if you went to auto zoo it still may be bad , or mis matched part who knows you can't go by assumptions ,if it just spins (^^) there may be teeth missing on the fly wheel who knows , people should find a source of original equipment parts that are of a higher quality ,
