Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just replaced my MAF and I got my car to idle now,but when I
accelerate, the car putters and loses power and kinda sounds like it's
backfiring a bit then when it passes that point of wanting to die down then
it will then like die down for just a second and then continue accelerating
die out for a second and repeat..
I don't think it's a vacuum leak..now I was told I was supposed to get a
Karmen Vortex Sensor rather than a Mass Airflow Sensor? Now what is the
difference between the 2 and also could that be my problem since I got a
MAF instead of a Karmen Vortex Sensor? Or are they the same exact
thing? Please someone give me some insight on this, and what the problem
could be now?!!
It's a (92 Toyota Supra Turbo)

your issue sounds like a timing problem.
